New Delhi: Amid reports that the Centre is likely to grant indemnity against legal proceedings to foreign vaccine makers Pfizer and Moderna, it is gathered that Serum Institute of India too has put forth a similar demand.

The Adar Poonawalla-led company, which manufactures AstraZeneca and Oxford University’s Covid-19 vaccine — Covishield has reportedly told the government that all vaccine makers should be granted the same protection.

A NDTV report, citing sources from SII stated: “Not just Serum Institute of India (SII), all the vaccine companies should get indemnity protection against liabilities if foreign companies are granted it. Serum is hoping that rules should be same for everyone.”
