Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Friday announced the cancellation of the Pre-University Course (PUC)-II examinations considering the Covid-19 scenario in the state.
S Suresh Kumar, minister for primary and secondary education, informed that the class 12 students will be promoted without exams.
“We are not holding the PUC exams this year. The grading will be based on their performance at the district level assessment in the first pre-university examination,” Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said at a press conference.
The second pre-university college students would be promoted to the next level, he added.
He also said that students who are not happy with the grading system can take up the examination.
The central government on Tuesday had decided to cancel the CBSE Class 12 board exams amid COVID-19 pandemic across the country and several states too have canceled board exams following the center’s decision.
