Chikkaballapur: Former min Prof Mumtaz Ali Khan passes away

Chikkaballapur: Professor Mumtaz Ali Khan (98), who was a former minority, hajj and waqf minister and the district in-charge minister of Chikkaballapur district, passed away on Monday morning.
Khan was suffering from age-related ailments for the past few weeks.
He served as minister in the Yeddyurappa-led government in 2008 and after becoming the district in-charge minister he was credited with having led the development of the Chikkaballapur district administration building, Revenue building and a mega dairy on the outskirts of the city.
“News of former minister’s Mumtaz Ali Khan’s death is saddening. He served as a minister in Yeddiyurappa’s 2008 Cabinet and was made the minister in-charge of the Chikkaballapur district. I pray to god to grant peace to his soul,” said Dr K Sudhakar, the present minister in-charge of Chikkaballapur district.
