Belagavi: Kingpin behind stealing 5 kg gold from seized car arrested

Belagavi: Police officials from Sankeshwar here arrested the mastermind behind the conspiracy to steal gold from a vehicle seized by police.

The arrested kingpin has been identified as Kiran Virangouda.

The Sankeshwar police received a tip-off that a deal for the gold has been struck and arrested the dealmaker Kiran.

The case pertains to a conspiracy to steal gold from a car that was secretly smuggling it from Mangaluru to Mumbai in January 2021.

After seizing the car it was parked at the police station.

The owner of the car had contracted Kiran to procure the gold hidden in the car.
