Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Pre-University College Lecturers’ Association has demanded that the government must withdraw the order terminating the service of 1,835 guest lecturers else they will boycott the paper evaluation duties of the PU-I examination.

They further demanded that guest lecturers, who are paid a monthly honorarium of Rs 9,000, should be allowed to continue in service till the end o the exam.

Members of the Association have questioned the government’s rationale behind terminating the guest lectures from their job but asking them to evaluate the answer papers.

Members also complained that they are yet to get their past three months salary, adding that three guest lecturers died of COVID-19 and no relief was provided to their families.
