Bengaluru: Health worker caught stealing leftover vaccines, charges for shots

Bengaluru: A female healthcare worker was caught red-handed in Bengaluru charging people Rs 400 for administering coronavirus vaccine doses by the tehsildar and other officers.

The woman has been identified as Gayatri, who works at a medical facility in Nelamangala in rural Bengaluru. She used to allegedly steal vials that had some leftover vaccines.

A video showed the woman purportedly taking money after she had administered a dose.

After receiving a tip-off, the officials caught Gayatri red-handed. A case has been registered against the accused for illegal procurement and black-marketing of the vaccine doses.
