Bengaluru: 81 vehicles seized for violating COVID-19 curfew in a day

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said that 81 vehicles have been seized in the city for violating coronavirus guidelines on Wednesday from 2 pm to 7 pm.
Of the total, 76 were two-wheelers and five were four-wheelers, he added. Earlier this week, restrictions under section 144, which were imposed in Bengaluru in mid-April, were extended till June 21.
It is said that the police seized 41,832 vehicles for curfew and lockdown in 54 days (April 10 to June 3), averaging 774 per day.
Last year, 49,414 vehicles were impounded during the two phases of Covid-19 lockdown (March 24 to April 30 and July 14 to July 22) at an average of nearly 1,075 a day.
