State reports 5,783 new Covid-19 cases, 168 deaths; DK crosses 1000 Covid mark again

Bengaluru: Karnataka has reported 5,783 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the total number of infections to 1,37,050.

The day also saw 15,290 discharges, taking the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 26,25,447.

Out of the total cases reported Friday, 1,100 were from Bengaluru Urban, which also saw 6,160 discharges and 39 deaths.

On the other hand, Dakshina Kannada has reported 1006  cases taking the total number of infections to 6,931, the district also saw 665 discharges and 14 deaths.

The total positive cases in the district currently stand at 87,350 while 79,395 have recovered and discharged.

It is said that as many as 23 locations have been declared as containment zones in the Dakshina Kannada district. Also,  according to Health Department, for the past few days, an average of 10,000 people are being tested for Covid-19 in the district.
