DK, Udupi: Heavy rains to lash for next 48 hrs; Red Alert declared

Bengaluru: The Meteorological Department on Friday forecasted extremely heavy rainfall over Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts in the next two days.
Accordingly, the Department has declared a Red Alert for the coastal districts for June 19 and 20.
The Department issued Orange Alerts for Chikkamagalur, Hassan, Kodagu and Shivamogga districts. While moderate to heavy rainfall with strong winds has been forecasted for south interior and north interior parts of the State this weekend.
Fishermen have also been advised not to venture into the sea.
