Udupi: Social worker Sudhakar Shetty Mattibailu passes away

Udupi: Social worker Sudhakar Shetty Mattibailu (56), a resident of Puttige in Hiriyadka died on June 19 after a brief illness.

Shetty is survived by his wife and son.

Shetty was involved in activism and was instrumental in saving the Puttige bridge.

He donated thousands of ‘Kadir’ to the Parkala’s Mahalingeshwara Temple during its temple festival which were made from the produce from his farm.

He was also involved in local politics and had joined the Congress party working with former MLA from the Kapu constituency late Bhaskar Shetty.

Later he joined the BJP.

Shetty owned a timber depot and furniture shop near Parkala’s Shamraya Circle.
