Bengaluru: Law and Parliamentary Affairs minister Basavaraj Bomai on Monday said that a new policy on the State’s water management and usage will be formulated soon
“A decision to constitute a Cabinet subcommittee to draft the new water policy was taken by the Cabinet. The policy will have guidelines for the consumption of water in agriculture, industries and drinking water purposes,” he said.
Bommai also clarified that the water policy will only be for intra-State water usage and will not cover any inter-State water issue.
Additionally, the Cabinet amended the Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act on Monday.
The amendments will now consider the survey report by the project authority as deemed and eliminates the need for another report by the planning authority for Transfer of Development Rights (TDR).
