World Rainforest Day is observed annually on June 22. It is celebrated to raise awareness about the preservation of rainforests. The day is intended to spur action to protect them.
Rainforest Partnership established the inaugural World Rainforest Day in 2017. The plan behind launching World Rainforest Day was to protect rainforests across the world as they are an integral part of the ecosystem.
This year’s theme is ‘Protected Together. Now. Forever’.
On this day every year, various NGOs and organisations celebrate World Rainforest day every year. Various webinars, activities and discussions have been organised for people by many NGOs.
On social media, #WorldRainforestDay is used to inform people about the natural resources and rainforests.
