Bengaluru: State’s Education Minister Suresh Kumar on Wednesday released the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the 2021-22 SSLC examinations.

“The SOP prepared by the State COVID-19 Technical Advisory Committee for the SSLC examination scheduled for the third week of July has been forwarded to all examination centres by the Department,” the minister said.

“Teachers, staff and officials who will be involved in the examination process are required to get at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine before the examination begins. All preparations in the examination centres must be done strictly according to the SOPs by the Deputy Commissioners, CEOs and SPs,” Kumar said.

The SOP states that all classrooms in the examination centre must be sanitized every day and no more than 12 students should be allowed per room. Students will be allowed to carry their own water bottles.

Two rooms in each examination centre should be reserved for candidates suffering from cough, common cold and flu and two additional examination centres must be identified in each taluk/district and kept as reserve.

Every taluk must have an emergency vehicle and a COVID Care Centre ready. If any student or staff are found positive they should be immediately transferred there.

Kumar also announced that a video conference will be held on June 28 with Deputy Commissioners, Zilla panchayat CEOs, SPs, DHOs and Treasury Officers.
