Bengaluru: A 17-year-old boy from Chamarajpet had recently attended a friend’s birthday party, days later his arm had to be amputated after doctors found a poisonous substance in his forearm.

Boy’s family claims, the accused, whose birthday celebrations he attended, injected drugs into his arm during the party which caused swelling four days later. When the family took the boy to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, the doctors said the arm would have to be amputated to remove the poisonous substance.

The accused is a volleyball coach who had grinded some tablets, dissolved them in water and injected the mixture into his body.

The police have registered a case against the youth under IPC section 328 (causing hurt by poisoning with intent to commit offence). However, the accused is already in jail for vehicle theft.
