Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police registered an FIR against a fraudster who floated a fake website asking people to sell kidneys.
A man named Dr Thomas James allegedly ran a website that resembled a renowned hospital’s website.
According to police, the message on the website said, “Sell your kidney for Rs 5 crore in Indian rupees; contact us today and get paid the same day; you can sell your one kidney and live a normal life”
It is said that those who visited the fake website, were directed to different web links.
Officials are tracking the miscreants, who seem to be operating from a different state, an officer told TOI. If anyone has lost money to them, they can approach us, he added.
