Bengaluru: A decision on the re-opening of schools in Karnataka would be taken at a high-level meeting on Monday, June 28.
The meeting will be held at the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan office in the city, deputy commissioners, DMOs, CEOs and DDPIs will take part through video conference.
In the meeting, officials will discuss whether it is suitable to reopen the schools and conduct offline classes in the state.
On June 22, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said the government will consider opening higher educational institutions in a phased manner after vaccinating students and teachers, following recommendations from the Dr Devi Shetty-led expert committee on possible COVID-19 third wave.
The schools and colleges in Karnataka were shut down in view of the rapidly spreading Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown.
