Negative RT-PCR test report mandatory to enter Karnataka from Kerala: DC

Mangaluru: The district deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra KV on Monday, June 28 said that travelers from Kerala must now mandatorily carry a negative RT-PCR test certificate while entering Karnataka.

Rajendra KV said, as delta variant cases have been traced in Kerala, the government has asked to take precautionary measures on borders connecting Kerala and Karnataka.

Checkposts will be set up in Talapady, Nettanigemudnoor, Saradka, Jalsoor and will function 24/7. Also, additional checkposts will be set-up on entry places to Kerala under the limits of various gram panchayats, he added.

He further urged people to avoid unnecessary travelling and officials have been asked to take preventive measures to contain the third wave of the pandemic.
