Bengaluru: BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Thursday responded to Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa’s son BY Vijayendra’s statement that his father will remain as CM for the rest of his term.

Yatnal said, “Adil Shah, Tipu Sultan, and Mughals who once ruled were also destroyed. Who are these people who claim they will stay in power? They cannot stay (in power) for long”

Vijayendra had said, “There is no need to raise this issue (of leadership change) time and again when national leaders, state BJP president, and even the Chief Minister have said that he (Yediyurappa) would continue in his position for the next two years.  Leadership change is now a “closed chapter.”

Responding to this statement, Yatnal said, “It has been taught by his father. His father teaches everything to him and he just speaks.”

“There are examples that sitting CMs have gone to jail. We wish the same must not be repeated,” he added.
