Kasargod: Kerala’s Kasargod district has ranked first in the State in COVID-19 vaccination and testing.

The district has also reported a reduction in the number of COVID-19 deaths.

The daily testing rate in the district is 142 per cent and 98 per cent of people over the age of 45 have been vaccinated.

The fatality rate presently is 0.3 in the district and more than 5,400 tests were carried out daily in the district.

District’s Deputy Commissioner Collector Dr D Sajith Babu said that preparations are being done to prevent the third wave of the pandemic from becoming a major concern.

He was speaking after presiding over the Kasargod District-level Corona Core Committee meeting.

He added that once the Delta Plus infection is reported in the district, its impact on children, as suggested by experts, should not be ignored.
