Dharwad: Nagappa Omagannavar, a resident of Devarahubballi village in the taluk here, celebrated in a grand manner the birthday of his bullock he had sold years ago and which he recently found was set for slaughter.

Omagannavar had sold his bullock, Mailari, a few years ago when he was in financial distress.

A few days ago, while he was at the cattle market at Dharwad, he heard the familiar cry of a bullock from the slaughterhouse. When he followed the sound he was surprised to see his Mailari, waiting in the slaughterhouse.

He bought Mailari from the slaughterhouse after taking loans from his friends and relatives.

On returning home he held a grand birthday party for her
