Bengaluru: Private unaided engineering colleges in the State have reportedly sought a 30 per cent increase in undergraduate engineering courses fees.
As per reports, a delegation of engineering colleges’ management met the chief minister recently and presented their demand.
They stated that as the last hike was three years ago, a hike now is reasonable.
Admissions for engineering courses are scheduled to begin in October.
However, the Higher Education Department has reportedly expressed that a 30 per cent fee hike is unjust due to the financial distress caused by the pandemic.
The Department is of the view that a 5 per cent hike is acceptable.
