Bengaluru: The Karnataka government will soon begin a mining school in Ballari in a bid to equip the youth and key stakeholders of the industry with more management and technical skills.
It is said to be State’s first, and the country’s second, ‘school of mining.’
Mines Minister Murugesh Nirani said the detailed project report was ready and will soon seek Cabinet approval.
He further said that the school would come up on 50 acres in Ballari and will provide international level training to both owners and workers of mines as well in management and technical skills respectively. Such training would also contribute towards curbing unscientific mining practices.
