Mysuru: Assistant sub-inspector, S Doreswamy from HD Kote Police station took up road repair work and filled potholes on Mysuru roads by spending money from his pocket. He nearly spent Rs 3 lakh to fix the roads.
The five-km road between Madapura and K Belattur in HD Kote taluk was filled with potholes and it witnessed accidents regularly, with riders trying to dodge potholes. Despite repeated requests to officials, the elected representatives did not respond.
Locals then approached Doreswamy, who with the help of his wife took up the repair work.
Earlier, Doreswamy had fixed the pothole-laden stretch from Gaddige Circle to Malhara Colony in the Taluk which used to witness regular accidents.
