Bantwal: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) designed transit-safe ‘ICU Bus’ has arrived at Bantwal’s BC Road unit.

This is the first ICU Bus in KSRTC’s Mangaluru and Puttur divisions and will cover the Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts.

The bus is equipped with a siren system similar to an ambulance and has a mini-clinic inside.

The ICU Bus also has five oxygenated beds, blood pressure and oxygen levels monitoring systems, ECG machine, IV system, ventilators and an emergency generator system.

Physicians and staff from the Health Department will provide necessary service to patients on the bus.

The bus will visit a village every 2 months.

The bus safety will be launched on July 13 in Pulali by MLA Rajesh Naik.
