Bengaluru: BJP National General Secretary CT Ravi said that Karnataka also needs a population control policy just like Uttar Pradesh and Assam.
CT Ravi who was speaking about Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister releasing a new population policy for 2021-2030, said that Karnataka’s population has crossed the 7-crore mark, adding that it is necessary to now think about the limited natural resources available.
”We have to think about this very seriously. Whatever stringent move that UP and Assam government are taking, let Karnataka also do a study on them and discuss it. If it helps, they have to bring it to Karnataka also,” he said.’
“It is high time Karnataka brings in a new population policy on the lines of Assam and Uttar Pradesh to control its growing population. With the limited natural resources available, it will be difficult to meet the needs of every citizen if there is a population explosion,” Ravi tweeted on Tuesday, July 13.
