Child marriage averted in time by officials in Sullia

Sullia: Under the guidance of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Rashmi, officials stopped a child marriage in Kandadka, Sullia on July 15.
A minor girl from Mysuru was scheduled to be married to a 26-year-old man named Pratap, resident of the Tamil colony in the Taluk on July 15.
Upon receiving information, the officials reached the spot and stopped the wedding. The girl has now been sent back to Mysuru and a letter stating that the girl could marry the same boy after the age of 18 years has been signed.
