Gold worth Rs 34.46 lac seized from Dubai returnees at M’luru airport, 2 held

Mangaluru: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport seized gold worth Rs.34,46,464 from two Dubai returnees here.

The passengers — Mohammed Ansar Kayyar (34) from Uppala, Kerala and Mohammed Moosa Miyas (18) from Kozhikode, Kerala were attempting to smuggle gold (703 grams) in paste form concealed inside the bottom portion of their suitcases on Thursday July 15.

The Customs team was led by Praveen Kandi, deputy commissioner and supported by Customs officers Nagesh Kumar, superintendent, Manokatyayini, superintendent and other officers.
