Bengaluru: The students of Maharani Cluster University in Bengaluru protested on Wednesday against the university’s decision to conduct exams on short notice.
A circular was put out on July 9 announcing exams for first and third-semester UG and PG students from July 19 which gave the students just 10 days to prepare.
“It’s impossible to write exams on such short notice even under normal circumstances,” said a protesting student.
The students were seen protesting, holding placards, and shouting slogans against the announcement of exams. Their main demand was to revoke a circular that announced the date of examinations. The other issue that the students pointed out was that all of them have not been vaccinated.
However, 30 minutes later Vice-Chancellor (VC) Gomathi Devi L arrived and assured the students that no decision about exams will be taken before the government’s orders. Students welcomed the announcement.
