Ramnagar: Police investigating the attack on an RTI activist at Tavarkere off Magadi Road near here have stated that the motive behind the attack appears to be a financial dispute among relatives.
Venkatesh (43), was attacked on Thursday by motorbike-borne assailants near his farm and was initially assumed to be a revenge attack for his activism against corruption.
The police also reported that Venkatesh had an extra-marital affair which could also be the motive behind the attack.
The police further said that they have gathered leads and will be making few arrests soon.
