College administration to be held responsible if ragging not curbed: Compol

Mangaluru: Amid rise in ragging cases in the city, City police commissioner N Shashi Kumar warned the educational institutions of strict action if ragging is not curbed.

Shashi Kumar said that in the past six months, 4 cases of ragging have been reported in the city and more than 20 students have been arrested.

He further said that strict action will be taken against students involved in ragging.  Also, Administrative committees of all colleges have been instructed to take action to protect students from ragging.

The college administration has been advised to form a committee to prevent ragging and if any negligence is noted on the part of the administrative committee, a case will be registered against the committee, he said.
