Bengaluru: Many unaided private schools in the State have reported that many parents of students in their schools are requesting that their wards be retained in the same class rather than be promoted.
The schools state that parents think that their children have not learnt anything in the past year. Adding that most of the requests are from parents of children in classes 1-4.
As per reports, the Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools said that the parents are even willing to pay the fees for their children to study in the same class.
However, the schools are instructed by the Department of Public Instruction to promote all the students making them reject all such requests from parents.
Earlier schools were permitted to retain students if their parents desired so.
