Mangaluru: Fire at SSLC exam centre; major tragedy averted

Mangaluru: A major tragedy was averted on Monday, when a fire broke out due to a short circuit, at an SSLC examination center at Ullal.
The fire broke out in the laboratory of a private school at Babbukatte, later a thick smoke engulfed the room adjacent to the lab.
The teachers immediately shifted the students to a nearby building and the students continued writing the examination.
Fire service personnel arrived on the spot and doused the fire.
