Mangaluru: CRZ (2019) map ready; public hearing on July 31

Mangaluru: The new map showing the revised Coastal Regulation Zone (2019) is ready and the meeting to raise objections to it will be held on July 31 at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here.

The map preparation, approval and implementation of the CRZ 2019 was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the CRZ 2011 map was still in force.

The map was prepared by the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management, Chennai.

The new CRZ rules intend to change the limits of the zone to 50 metres from 100 metres and also introduces many other changes for construction near the State’s coast.
