26-year-old man commits suicide in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: A 26-year-old committed suicide on Wednesday, July 22 at Kapikad Ureka near Kinnigoli.

The deceased identified as Rahul Colin Fernandes was a photographer by profession and was the owner of  RCF Studio in Kinnigoli. He was also the president of ICYM at Kinnigoli church.

Rahul committed suicide by jumping into a well near his house. It is said that around 2 am on Wednesday, Rahul’s mother found him missing and the family began to search for him. His body was later found in the well.

The family claimed that four days ago Rahul requested his father to buy a bike worth Rs 4 lakh. He also had deleted his Facebook and WhatsApp accounts before his death.

While the actual reason behind the extreme step is unknown, police suspect it to be a case of depression.

A case has been registered in Mulki police station.
