Chitradurga: Uppara Employees Union State resident Chandrappa requested the state government to immediately arrest the rapists of the 13-year-old girl and punish them severely.
A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Isaamudra village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Bharamasagara police station, in Chitradurga district.
The incident occurred when the class 8 student had ventured into a maize farm to answer nature’s call.
As per sources, the girl had been left alone at home since her parents had taken her younger sister to Bharamasagara PHC. Her parents were alarmed on not finding their teenage daughter at home on returning, and after enquiring with neighbours, they learnt she had left for the field.
After searching the field, they found her maimed body – the girl had sustained injuries on her cheek and neck.
A case has been booked under Pocso Act and an FIR filed.
