Honey trap case in Mangaluru, two arrested

Two people have been arrested on Tuesday, July 27 in connection to a honeytrap case under Ullal police station limits.

The arrested have been identified as Azwin (24) and Hatijamma (23).

The duo was found residing at an apartment at Ullal. They got in touch with a neighbor and invited him for dinner. They consumed alcohol and clicked photos and videos of the 32-year-old victim post-dinner. The duo threatened him that they would be uploading the photos and videos on social media. They took Rs 2 lakh and an ornament from the victim.

The incident happened on July 19 and a complaint was filed for extortion on July 23.

The accused were arrested and Rs 70,000 was seized from their possession.

Appealing people not to hesitate to file complaints, Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar asserted that the information will be kept confidential.
