Vijayapura: Vijayapura MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal, has alleged that he was not made the chief minister because of BS Yediyurappa.
Speaking to reporters here, Yatnal said, “I had the opportunity to become the chief minister. However, Yediyurappa had threatened the party’s central leadership that if I was offered the CM seat then he would oust my government in three months.”
“He and others feared that if I become the chief minister then they will all go to jail. Former chief minister Yediyurappa has committed corruption of more than Rs 10 crore,” Yatnal alleged.
“Yeddyurappa acted as chief minister of Shikaripur. He released more grants for the development of his constituency. Now he says that he will start touring all the districts of the State. When he visits the Vijayapur district, I will personally question him. Yediyurappa is afraid of me,” he added.
“I will not be lobbying for a ministerial berth. I am not the type of low-level politician who goes to Delhi and lobbies for ministership. I never had any lobby, even when I was the Union Minister,” Yatnal said.
