Udupi: Woman cheated of lakhs by man who befriended her on FB

Udupi: An incident where a woman being defrauded of Rs 19 lakhs by a man she met on Facebook was reported from here.

Lynette Seema Rodriguez (38), is employed in Kuwait and had met the accused Dr Andriv Felix on the social media platform.

The accused had reportedly told her that he is a medical practitioner by profession and wanted to open a pharmacy in Delhi.

He later contacted Rodriguez on WhatsApp and made her transfer the amount of Rs 19 lakhs from her bank account in phases for this purpose.

A case has been registered at the Udupi town police station as per a complaint alleging cheating and breach of trust.
