The Chennai Corporation initiated a series of beautification initiatives for the city titled the ‘Singara Chennai 2.0’ plan.
Structures are being put up at 14 places in the city.
The structures are made of metal scraps discarded at the Corporation’s scrapyard.
The plan includes the idea of raising awareness about recycling and reducing wastage.
Fifteen tonnes of metal scrap have been provided by the Corporation to artists from local and nearby States.
The structures have been placed in parks, near beaches, and any such open and easily accessible areas for the public to see.
