Bengaluru: A 32-year-old man died by suicide after consuming poison in a hotel room in Bengaluru on Thursday over blackmail related to sex videos.
The deceased has been identified as Supreeth, a clerk by profession from Hassan. Supreeth consumed poison at a lodge in Majestic. The hotel staff noticed water coming out of his room and as he did not respond to knocks, they opened the door and found him dead inside the washroom.
Police suspect that he might have gone to the washroom after consuming poison, fell unconscious, and died before turning off the tap.
He left a suicide note and accused four minor boys of blackmailing him for money by threatening to leak sex videos with his girlfriend.
They allegedly extorted Rs 4,000-Rs 5,000 from Supreeth and threatened to leak the videos if he didn’t pay more. The four were arrested on Friday.
