‘Our Govt will act strongly against PFI/SDPI, the preliminary stages of Taliban’

Mangaluru: MLA Bharat Shetty comparing PFI/SDPI to the Taliban’s said that the BJP government will act strongly against such outfits.

Taking to Twitter he wrote, “A day when Islamist outfit Taliban is taking Control of Afghanistan, PFI/SDPI disrupted I-Day celebrations in Puttur for having Veer Savarkar’s photo on Chariot and insisted to put Tyrant Tippu’s pic.”

“BJP government will act strongly against PFI/SDPI, the preliminary stages of Taliban,” he added.

SDPI workers allegedly obstructed a procession during Independence Day celebrations organized by Kabaka gram panchayat, as the chariot carried a photo of Veer Savarkar.

In addition, the SDPI workers insisted on displaying the photo of Tipu Sultan, sources said.

Asha, panchayat development officer (PDO) in her police complaint stated that ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahostav’ was being celebrated in Kabaka gram panchayat at around 9.45 am. During felicitation for Covid-19 warriors for ASHA workers, a vehicle was used to disseminate information on the union government with pictures of ‘Bharath Mata’ and freedom fighters.

The accused Aziz, Naushad, Shamir,Haris, Addu, Thousif, Shafi and others, allegedly violating the Covid-19 guidelines, desisted from celebrating Independence Day and caused damage to the photograph of Bharat Mata and public property.

The accused have been booked under 143,147, 269, 353, 323, 427and 149 of IPC sections and 2(A) KPDLP Act.
