Mangaluru: Domestic violence claims woman’s life

Mangaluru: In a horrific incident, a woman who was allegedly assaulted by her husband died on Wednesday, August 18.

The deceased has been identified as Sunita, a resident of Daregudde.

Sunita and her husband fought over certain issues and in a fit of rage, Dinraj hit his wife’s head with a wooden pestle, inflicting lethal injury.

After finding that blood was oozing out of his wife’s head, Dinraj called Sunita’s relative who told him to admit her into a hospital.

Dinraj took her to the hospital at Beluvai but the hospital refused to admit her. She was then taken to a hospital in Mangaluru, but she breathed her last there as she failed to respond to treatments.

Dinraj has been arrested by the Moodbidri police on Wednesday, August 18.

A case under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC has been filed against the accused.
