Bengaluru: A 30-year-old businessman has been arrested on charges of beating his wife to death for her inability to make tasty chicken fry.

The accused has been identified as Mubarak Pasha, a resident of Tarabanahalli near Chikkabanavara, he reportedly sells beds and pillows for a living. Pasha and his wife Shirin had three children.

Police officials began investigating the matter after the parents of his wife, Shirin Banu, 28, lodged a complaint stating their daughter was missing since August 18 night.

On Monday, Pasha along with his advocate visited the police station and confessed to having killed Banu and dumping her body in Chikkabanavara lake.

Pasha said that he had asked her to prepare chicken fry on August 18 night. When he came home, he was disappointed as the chicken fry was not tasty.

When confronted his wife replied arrogantly and, in a fit of rage, Pasha smashed her head using a wooden log.

He then wrapped the body in a gunny bag,  carried it on his bike at midnight and disposed it off in Chikkabanavara lake.
