Mysuru gang-rape case: NCW writes to DGP; demands prompt arrest of the accused

Bengaluru: National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognizance of the Mysuru gang rape case and has demanded the arrest of the accused.
NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to DGP Karnataka to make sure that all accused are identified and immediately arrested and charged under relevant sections of the law.
Four people allegedly gang-raped a private college student in the city on Tuesday night. The gang-rape reportedly took place near a hill next to the water tank at the Mysuru helipad.
Police probing the Mysuru gang rape case collected CCTV footage and dump from a mobile tower. As traces of alcohol consumption were found, the police are also enquiring with wine shop workers which are closed to the incident spot.
Meanwhile, the woman undergoing treatment currently and yet to give her statement to the police.
