The injured student has been identified as Ananthu Babu (16), son of P Babu and Usha from Panniyode tribal hamlet.

It is said that Ananthu climbed the tree to check the details of the plus one application. He fell from the tree after stepping on a broken twig.

Ananthu was rushed to Koothuparamba Taluk Hospital and later to Kannur District Hospital. However, he was shifted to Kannur Govt Medical College due to serious injuries.

There are 72 students in the Panniyode tribal hamlet at Kannavam in Kannur district and all of them face connectivity issues in the area.
