Kasargod: Student who climbed tree for network coverage falls, seriously injured

Kasargod: A student from Kannur was seriously injured after falling from a tree that he climbed to get network connectivity to get access to online classes.
The injured student has been identified as Ananthu Babu (16), son of P Babu and Usha from Panniyode tribal hamlet.
It is said that Ananthu climbed the tree to check the details of the plus one application. He fell from the tree after stepping on a broken twig.
Ananthu was rushed to Koothuparamba Taluk Hospital and later to Kannur District Hospital. However, he was shifted to Kannur Govt Medical College due to serious injuries.
There are 72 students in the Panniyode tribal hamlet at Kannavam in Kannur district and all of them face connectivity issues in the area.
Locals claim that several requests were made to the officials to provide digital devices and network connectivity to the students, but the government has turned a deaf ear to their appeals.
