Dakshina Kannada DC issues guidelines ahead of resumption of second PU physical classes

Mangaluru: Ahead of the reopening of colleges for second PU students in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V has issued a set of guidelines to be followed.
Physical classes for second PU students are will begin from September 1, while classes for first PU, degree and post-graduation may begin after September 15 after obtaining approval from deputy director of PU and joint director of colleges respectively.
The order issued by the DC states that the principal of the college should take complete responsibility of implementing the standard operating procedure (SOP) while the classes are in progress.
Take a look at the guidelines issuded by the DC
*Separate corona care center should be opened in colleges to keep students arriving from Kerala in quarantine for seven days.
*Students who have completed their quarantine period can attend classes after producing a negative RTPCR report.
*Arrangements should be made for students who are in quarantine to attend online classes.
*All teaching and non-teaching staff should provide negative RT-PCR test certificates.
*Separate classes should be held for local students and students residing in hostels.
*Students arriving from Kerala can attend classes by providing a negative RT-PCR test report once every seven days.
*Teaching and non-teaching staff arriving from Kerala will have to adhere to the same rule even if they have received two doses of vaccine.
A team including DDPU, taluk health officers and principals of respective colleges has been formed to ensure adherence to SOP.
