Mangaluru: Three held for stealing bicycle; cops seize 9 cycles worth Rs 1.5 lakh

Mangaluru: Police officials have arrested three bicycle-lifters and recovered 9 cycles worth Rs 1.5 lakh from an apartment in Urwa.

The accused have been identified as Hanumantha (30) from Haveri, Manjuraj (29) from Shivamogga, and Shankar Shetty (66) from Kuthar.

On August 28, the accused stole a bicycle belonging to a police inspector’s son.  It is said that they used to steal the bicycles, sell them for lower prices and use the money for consuming alcohol and gambling.
