Mangaluru: DC warns action against merchants violating COVID guidelines

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V warned of strict against the merchants who violate the orders issued by the district administration towards containing the spread of COVID-19.

Speaking during an video interaction on COVID-19 control measures along with zilla panchayat chief executive officer Dr Kumar, district health officer Dr Kishore Kumar, taluk medical officers, panchayat development officers and village assistants, the DC said that weekend and night curfew are in force in the district.

“Those who overlook instructions and open their shops will face legal steps. Even the general public have to stick to restrictions and guidelines,” he added.

He further directed the private hospitals to subject people visiting the hospitals with complaints of cold, cough or fever, to Covid tests without fail.

“Administer vaccinations to everyone aged over 18,” he said.
