We will issue new guidelines to ban public gatherings: Bommai

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday said that new guidelines will be issued to ban political gatherings and rallies in the state.
Bommai, “Amid the pandemic, several complaints regarding public gatherings and meetings have been received. We will issue new guidelines regarding this and will ensure strict implementation of Covid rules.”
Talking about re-opening of schools, “Currently, schools have been reopened for class 6,7,8th. Considering the result, we will plan the opening of schools for Classes 1 to 5. However, no decision on this front has been arrived at so far.”
Bommai expressed confidence about getting funds as per the state government’s demand, under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) norms.
“Also, we will hold a preliminary meeting today with the Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT). They will be visiting the worst affected areas along with Ministers and officials today and will share all information and reports, and after their visit to affected regions, another round of meeting will be held,” he said.
