The village leaders who intervened, decided that they would toss a coin to decide their fate. The girls were made to agree that after the toss there would not be any argument or complaints regarding the decision.
On Friday, September 7, all the village leaders and family members of the groom and bride gathered at the said spot fxed by the villager leader. But to everyone’s surprise, the groom was nowhere to be found.
It was later found that he had run away, village leaders began searching for the groom while the brides waited for him patiently.
The groom was finally found and confessed that he would marry the girl who drank poison for him, enraged by this the other girl slapped him and left the place.
